Bite Test: 2020 KTM RC200

The KTM RC 390 is well known for its very approachable demeanour to both beginners to expert riders around the world.

But in some countries where they have access to smaller displacement budget-sport motorcycles, they have two options: one is the bargain-basement RC 125, and this one the RC 200.

Designed to compete with various 175-250cc budget (‘over-bone’) sportbikes, the KTM is well known for its power-to-weight ratio, powerful high-strung engine, and chassis balance.

Despite its engineering pedigree from the larger 1290, 1190, & 1090 motorcycles; will this Austrian-engineered, Indian-developed single-cylinder ‘thumper’ motorcycle shine above its contemporary rivals?

Bite Test: 2019 Honda BeAT 110 (ISS/CBS)

The entry-level scooter game here in the Philippines can be a very crowded affair.

With all these scooters costs less than PHP70k (US$1,385), these 110cc budget scooter classes are one of the most popular forms of motorcycling in Southeast Asia! Along with Suzuki’s Skydrive Sport [UX110] from my previous ‘Bite Test,’ this Honda BeAT [ACH110] competes on this very competitive market!
The 2020 model of BeAT scooter comes with 3 distinct models now (Street, Fashion Sport, & Premium). But this 2019 model is called the ISS/CBS (Idle-Stop System & Combined-Braking System) on which is equivalent to the 2020 Premium model.
How will the BeAT compare to the Skydrive Sport scooter? Since it tough for me to get a hold to even test these scoots, this is all I can manage. I hope you guys will like today’s ‘Bite Test!’
(I will remain to call this scooter “Be-At,” not “Beat” like the old Honda’s Kei-class wonder roadster.)

Bite Test: 2020 Bajaj Rouser 200NS

Also known as the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 (Carburated, non-ABS model) or Kawasaki Rouser 200NS in the Philippines.

This 200cc class ‘backbone’ naked bike is in a tough arena between the mainstream 150cc and the globally-recognized 250cc classes! And since this will be my first time to ride a naked bike like this! Plus this is my first time on a Bajaj bike.

And take note, the KTM Duke/RC 125/200/250/390 are built in cooperation with Bajaj, and lately with Triumph Motorcycles!

How will I feel riding an oddball 200cc motorcycle? This will be a different experience altogether!

I would love to test this bike further on a ‘Taste Test’ format at least.
